We started about 10 years ago on my backyard patio with just a few basic tools and a huge amount of passion. As an Active Duty Navy Sailor and part time woodworking enthusiast, I handmade items as going away gifts for my fellow Brothers-in-Arms. A tough part of Active Duty military life is the constant moving from place to place. So every time a Shipmate was leaving us, I would make them a goodbye gift. Something special to remind them of the good "Momentos" spent together and to show them that their sacrifice and work did not pass unnoticed. Friends kept leaving and I kept making gifts. Soon I was not just making going away gifts, but welcome ones, birthdays, weddings, births, awards, and even custom furniture. Fast forward to now, I'm retired, and my old Shipmates still request custom items for their friends and families. I truly believe that making something handmade and custom for a special someone is one of the truest ways to show love and appreciation and receiving something handmade and customized especially for you is a special feeling.
